Frog Meadow’s Work Camp Program

Think of Work Camp as the all-men’s retreat you always wished existed — part camaraderie, part connection, and part rolling up your sleeves to help care for the land we all love. Each spring and fall, a group of guests gathers for a stretch of days to tend the gardens, refresh the trails, open the property for summer, or tuck it gently in for winter.

Stay for a minimum of 4 nights — or settle in for the entire session. Either way, you’ll join a warm community of men who enjoy pitching in, laughing together, and ending the day with good food and a well-earned soak in the hot tub.

For $25 per night (plus tax), Work Camp includes comfortable accommodations, a hearty country breakfast, and lunch each day. Dinners are a collaborative group effort — everyone helps cook, clean, or contribute, making evening meals one of the highlights of the week.

Work Camp dates for Spring of 2026 are as follows: April 4 – 19, 2026.

Work Camp dates for Fall of 2026 are TBD.

In exchange, we ask for 6 hours of work per night of your stay. Projects vary with the season and may include:

  • Trail maintenance & clearing

  • Garden and orchard care

  • Yard cleanup & planting

  • Spring/fall deep cleaning

  • Painting & touch-ups

  • Setting up or putting away outdoor furniture

  • Wood stacking

  • Light carpentry or general help around the farm

Whether you bring specialized skills (carpentry, chainsaw use, painting, electrical work, gardening, cooking, massage, or housekeeping) or simply bring enthusiasm, all are welcome. There’s always a job for every ability level.

Evenings are for unwinding — hot tub soaks, relaxed conversation, stargazing, or simply sinking into the peace of Frog Meadow after a satisfying day outdoors.

Frog Meadow’s Late May Garden Fellowship Program

If you love the outdoors, crave fresh air, or miss having your hands in the soil, our Garden Fellowship Program offers a beautiful way to reconnect with nature — and with yourself. Designed for men who enjoy gardening, landscaping, and time outside, the fellowship is a chance to spend a few spring days helping Frog Meadow burst into bloom.

How It Works

Join us for three or more consecutive weekdays during the weeks of May 13 or May 20 (based on availability). Each day, you’ll spend six hours assisting with spring gardening and landscaping projects — planting, mulching, prepping beds, tidying pathways, and helping with whatever seasonal tasks the land is asking for.

In return, you’ll receive:

  • A lodging stipend equal to the value of your stay

  • A full country breakfast each morning

  • Lunch each day of your fellowship

  • Evening access to the hot tub, plus the camaraderie of other guests

A $25 per-night administrative fee applies (plus Vermont Rooms & Meals Tax, for a total of $27.25 per night, non-refundable).

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or simply someone who loves being outside, the fellowship is a joyful, grounding way to welcome spring at Frog Meadow.

Work-in-Kind Fellowship Programs

Frog Meadow thrives because of the generous hands and talents of the men who feel connected to this place. If you have practical skills — gardening, landscaping, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, or other trades — and enjoy contributing your expertise, we’d love to hear from you.

Throughout the year, as projects arise, we offer Work-in-Kind Fellowship opportunities, allowing skilled guests to support the land and the property in exchange for lodging and participation in the Frog Meadow community. These fellowships are tailored to the season and to our current needs, ensuring a mutually rewarding experience.

If you’re interested in joining us, please use the form below or call 802-365-7242 to discuss upcoming projects and coordinate a potential Work-in-Kind Fellowship stay.
